Blunders of Brainstorm

So I recently came across this company's website while going through my LinkedIn updates. The company claims it is going to do something that I don't think any company in India has done so far. The name of the company-

Brainstorm Innovation

Their posts on LinkedIn read-
"Want to master in the field of Matlab....as well as want to do Projects in Different Domains of Matlab .Brainstorm Is coming to meet you in your doorsteps with different Internet based applications"
(sic)

"Greetings from BrainStormInnovation E-Learning,Product based company.we are group of members working in MNC...We are providing MATLAB Online Training contact:brainstorminnovation@gmail.com
MATLAB TRAINING COURSES ARE:
1.DIPLOMA IN BASICS OF MATLAB
2.ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN DIP
3.ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN DSP
4.ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN BIO-MEDICAL IMAGING
5.ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

Contact us to get syllabus and quote
"
(sic)

Which means that they plan to provide online classes in MATLAB, OpenCV in the fields- DIP, DSP, Communication Systems, Bio-Metrics, Bio-Medical etc. (and probably wanting to make their company famous at the international level at some point as this was posted in the MATLAB Users group on LinkedIn).

So I took a little closer look at their LinkedIn profile, posts and their company's official website.
What I saw nearly saddened me, but made me laugh at the same time.

Check out the discussion in the comment section of theirs first post on LinkedIn here and the second post here.
The link to their official (but said to be temporary) website.
The image of their official logo.

Now read the details on the four links above very carefully.
If you are good in English I'm sure they'll make you laugh too. The lack of grammar, punctuation, capitalization of first alphabets of a new sentence are all very amusing. The best of all was the home page of the website, which also made me a little worried about the company and can be seen in the image below:

1. The logo of the company is "BL". Why would "Brainstorms Innovation" have a logo saying "BL"?

2. The name of the company is "Brainstorm Innovation" so why is it written as "Brainstrom" on the company website?

I then found out the following details about their course via email:
Course fees: 16,000
( There is actually no mention if this amount is in Rupees, Dollars, Euros, Pounds, Dinars or what, but I assume it to be in Rupees.)
Total duration: 65 hours
and lectures through Skype.

Now normally I would not mind doing such a course but when I saw the fees which was almost double the fees of what some centers with certification courses take for a similar duration course and let you have access to their computers, study materials, and any hardware that you may require. Compared to that the fee for sitting in my home, using my own internet, and learning should be much less, in my opinion.

And then there is the doubt on the authentication of the website and the company. I mean i'm sure they didn't mean to purposefully add the mistakes I just highlighted above, but a company that has a logo that doesn't correspond to their name, a website with the wrong name of their own company, feels a little suspicious to me. So to dispel my doubts I thought I'd check out the location of the company and confirm one way or the other whether it was a sham or not.

What I saw shocked me!

The contact details written on their website are as follows:

Tel: 91-8428049258
Email: brainstorminnovation@gmail.com
Adress: Online contact is enough.Location at bangalore
(sic)
Now you can see the following errors. "Adress" is missing a 'd', "bangalore" instead of "Bangalore", "Location at bangalore" not ending with a period, and the line "Online contact is enough." seriously made me doubt the authenticity of the company. What company deliberately decides to not give their address and if they didn't want to give out their address, why was the line even written?
I would advice people not to take a risk by enrolling in their classes. Pretty sure that they will ask for the Rs. 16000/- via online transfer or via DD, which will make the workings of the company all the more suspicious and with no way of contacting them other then the phone number and the email id I don't think anybody would want to take that risk either.
Avoid the classes people!
Ciao!

Crazy Times

We've all done crazy things in our life which we are not proud of. But funnily enough that's never been the case with me. I've done some pretty crazy things in my life and never has it happened that I was unhappy about what I had done.

Take the story of the 'Ladies Restrooms' for example that most of my friends know. And you can probably guess from the title that its not something that I would like to publicly share. But that doesn't mean I'm guilty or regretful about what I have done. In fact, when I make a new friend and am comfortable enough to share my secrets with them, I regale them with the tales of all the crazy things I have done in my life, 'Ladies Restrooms' being one such tale.

But there are some stories of my crazy behavior that I relish more than others. They include:
'Adventure to the Mall' -How a ride to the local mall was an adventure in itself.
'Crazy in Love' -The crazy things you do when you are in love (or you think that you are).
'Orkut fake profile' -One of the classic tales of revenge.
'Revelation of the 'Orkut fake profile' story' -We had fun even when we were caught.
'A visit to the nearby haunted house' -We didn't actually get a chance to go in but it was still pretty crazy.
'The road inspection' - Read about it here. I loved what I did that day.
and many more...

They say: 'Bad decisions make good stories; and I always have a good story.'

True Story!
Cheers to crazy people!

Idiots: They live amongst us!

Some people are PURE idiots!! Plain Simple Truth!! No 2 ways about it!!
And I am not talking about the good kind of idiots that were shown in the movie '3 Idiots'. No! I am talking about the NOT retarded, fully functional members of society that don't have an ounce of common sense running through their bodies! (Not taking into account, how good they are in studies)

No matter how much you try to open up their eyes to the reality, they prefer to live in a dreamland!
A place where everything is hunky-dory. Where they get to wear the rose colored glasses over their eyes and forget about the reality of life. Where they think that there exists only light, and no darkness in their fellow human beings.

They never learn from their mistakes! And there is no cure for people who never learn from their mistakes the first time.

Like it is said: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Though I read a version of this quote on twitter which I personally think is better: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you again. And stop picking on me, I'm clearly an idiot.

But such people will always be picked on. Its non-debatable. Its simple natural selection. They make the wrong decisions their whole lives and so they will eventually die out. Gullible and impressionable to the core, they run with those who are cunning enough to recognize their lack of common sense, and have all the intentions of using them for their own purposes and on fulfillment of that purpose discarding them as damaged human beings to fend for themselves in the big bad world. And yet, these gullible creatures fall into the hands of either the same cunning master manipulator again, or some other bigger, better, manipulator of such fickle minds.

The best way to keep your own sanity, when coming in contact with such people, is to let them live in their own world, and never think about their well being. Forget about them completely if you can, the sooner the better. Such people cannot change. They have the maturity of a 3 year old and there is no point trying to help them grow up. It will take time and effort on your part to try and show them the truth about the world, to try and make them grow up but the end result will still be what it was before you started helping them. So all your work goes down the drain and the amount of knowledge that goes into their brain amounts to ZERO.

It is my opinion that when people want to commit suicide (figuratively of course... in a way where they do not recognize a bad situation even if it is happening with them for the 10th time and head into that situation with a completely empty mind), and you have done all you can to prevent it, and they still want to do it, then it is better to let them do it and not stop them.

There is no way to make them understand, no way to make them see the reality, no way to make them face the harshness of it, because (you guessed it) they are IDIOTS! And so cannot comprehend any advice you might have to offer such lost souls.

Stay Safe!
Stay Clear of Idiots!
Stay Happy!
